Helping Dad...Or Maybe Not

We have finally started on the last step to re-doing our upstairs bathroom. This last step happens to be installing a tile floor, which we have been putting off. It didn't sound like too much fun to start with, but now that we are in the middle of it we really aren't enjoying it. Hopefully the end result will be worth it. For now we will keep trudging on to get it done. Even though we aren't thrilled with doing this project, Joshua has been very interested in what is going on! He wants so badly to explore what is happening, but it's not the safest place for a curious little boy. Tonight he was fascinated as Cory was measuring and just had to get in there to help dad out. He ended up just wanting to play with this cool new thing called a measuring tape. At least some one in the house is getting a little pleasure out of this project.

Happy Easter!

Hope everyone had a very blessed Easter! Just wanted to share a picture of Joshua in his new Easter duds; however, he wouldn't look at the camera because he was too interested in playing with his Easter treats!

Enjoying Spring!

Since the weather was so nice Friday we wanted to get outside and enjoy it so for a couple hours Joshua and I played with his toys on the deck. When Cory got home he wanted to get some landscaping started so we all headed outside. Joshua wasn't much help since all he wanted to do was sit in the wheelbarrow and play or go for a ride. Like a typical boy, Joshua ended up all dirty after his fun in the wheelbarrow. Cory ended up doing all the landscaping while Joshua and I sat and played nearby, but at least we all got to enjoy the beautiful weather!

Little Book Worm

Joshua has loved being read to since he was born. These days he may sit down and listen to a few books, but his need to move seems to be pretty strong so lots of times we end up following him around as we read. When Joshua does sit down to hear a story he loves to look at the illustrations and when we are done with a page he likes to turn it to the next page. He has been turning the pages of books as we read for a few months now, but I finally grabbed the camera and got a picture of him in action. As an early childhood teacher this small action of turning the pages of a book makes me smile, knowing that my child already has an interest in reading!

Welcome Owen!

Today Shawn and Erin welcomed Owen into the world and we were able to visit them tonight. Joshua wasn't quite sure about this visit though. He recognized Uncle Shawn and Aunt Erin right away, but he seemed puzzled as to why there was a little baby and Aunt Erin was in bed. Someday he will realize that he has a new cousin and playmate.
