Yes, you read the title correctly! Our stubborn little boy who hasn't been very willing to try to walk on his own has finally been taking some solo steps. With the help of a little motivation called Smarties Joshua has walked on his own many times (apparently he loves his candy as much as his mom does). He has even walked to us a few times. Now this is by no means his preferred method of getting around since he is a speedy little crawler, but at least he is making some progress in the area of walking on his own. Way to go Joshua! We knew you could do it once you decided that you wanted to. Your cousin Allison may not be too far behind. She is taking several quick steps as she tries to catch her balance, but once today she did 20 steps going after a cookie. We think that was a freak event though. Congrats to you!

Yay, Joshua! I'd walk for candy too; you're a smart little boy to hold out for that! You're looking steadier than Elijah, maybe you can show him the ropes in a few weeks. By then you'll have it down pat! We can't wait to see you!
Way to go Joshua! You sure look steady on your feet and a little surprized when you realized you were walking. Keep it up and soon Dad and Mom will have to run to keep up with you.
