A night at the theatre

My aunt Cher called a few weeks ago saying she had vouchers for free tickets to the Civic Theatre and she wondered if we would like them as performances of Peter Pan were starting very soon. So, Saturday night Joshua and I, along with Owen and Erin went to see Peter Pan. This is not the first play that Joshua has seen, as he saw one with his preschool class a couple years ago but he didn't remember it; however, this is his first visit to the Civic and not his last! The boys weren't really sure what to expect as they both aren't very familiar with Peter Pan nor plays, but both of them were excited! We prepped them as best we could in case their were scary parts with Captain Hook and the pirates. The play was quite long, about 2 hours with a 15 minute intermission in the middle, but Joshua and Owen did really well and loved it! It's neat to see the differences between the stages the two boys are in - Joshua was very in tune with how this was all pretend and figured out quickly how the actor and actresses were flying while Owen had a more difficult time separating reality from fantasy (he had a few pangs of fear throughout due to the pirates and Captain Hook). The play was excellent and it was a very fun evening! Thank you to my aunt and uncle for thinking of us and sharing the magic of the theatre with us!

One very excited little boy!

Joshua had to take a picture of the stage as he waited with anticipation for the curtain to go up!
(This picture wasn't taken with any zoom, we were that close to the stage!)
