First snow

Since God decided to grace us with the presence of the little white flakes Wednesday for the first time this winter, Joshua decided we just HAD to play in it! I knew Joshua loved playing in the snow, but last year Matthew hated it so I was curious if his improvement in motor skills would do his attitude toward the snow. Matthew was very resistant to even standing in the snow at first, just content to stand on the dusting that remained on the driveway. After seeing Joshua and Corrinne having fun Matthew eventually decided it might be worth it to venture into the white stuff. Apparently I have two little snow bunnies now . . . we played outside for about an hour before I heard one complaint. Matthew's poor little hands were freezing - fleece mittens passed down from the first born don't work well for the second born who wants to stay outside playing with the big kids waaaaaaay longer than the first born was probably outside collectively all winter the year he was Matthew's age. New waterproof mittens were purchased today for Matthew and another hour of fun in the snow was had this afternoon. Oh, and both kids were back out in the snow after dinner tonight too. That means Joshua got dressed in his snow gear a grand total of 6 times today between getting to and from school, recesses and playing outside after school!!! Good to know we'll be enjoying all the beauty Michigan winters have to offer.

Hmmm, I think this snow stuff might just be okay.

Walking in the snow for the first time!!!

Playing together in the snow.

Want some snow? It's yummy!

Joshua eating the fresh fallen snow of course.

I've fallen and I can't get up. . . so I guess I'll just eat the snow.

Making snow bricks.

Corrinne and Matthew trying to build a snowman together.

Brick making takes a lot of concentration.
